Ever Wondered What Gear You Actually Use the Most?
Be honest: do you ever look at your camera bag and wonder if that expensive lens you bought two years ago is getting the love it deserves?
Are you curious about what camera body you shoot with the most? Which lens is your ultimate workhorse throughout the year? Which year was your absolute peak for taking photos? Or what aperture and shutter speed combination you default to without even realizing it?
We’ve got a brand-new tool to help you answer all of that and more: Photo Stats.
What is Photo Stats?
Photo Stats is a FREE, lightweight, standalone desktop app that scans your photo folders, reads the EXIF metadata, and gives you a clear breakdown of your photography habits.
You can filter your whole library by:
- Cameras & Lenses: See exactly how many shots came from each body or glass.
- Focal Lengths & Apertures: Discover your real favorite sweet spot (are you really a 35mm f/1.4 shooter, or do you stop down more than you think?).
- ISO & Shutter Speed: Learn how often you push your low-light limits.
- Timeline: Track how your shooting volume changes month by month, year by year.
Click on any camera, lens, or setting, and every chart updates together instantly. It’s like an interactive timeline of your journey as a photographer!
Why You’ll Love It
- 100% Local & Private: Everything runs directly on your machine (macOS or Windows). Your photos and data stay on your computer— no accounts, no cloud uploads, and zero tracking.
- Lightning Fast: It reads EXIF metadata in parallel so you can index thousands of photos in seconds without lag.
- Smart Duplicate Handling: If you shoot RAW + JPEG, Photo Stats automatically counts the shot as a single photograph so your metrics stay completely accurate.
How to Get Started
Getting your stats takes less than two minutes:
